We drove in to Malacca to visit my cousins and i had lot of fun with them.
Mummy loved baked crab from Portugese settlement so we went there for our dinner. I also started to like crab after mummy cooked chilli crab at home.
We went to Saint Paul church for visit where mummy and daddy had their bridal shoot here but this round, it was with me and my little brother in mummy's tummy.

I was more excited than daddy on his birthday. I drew a card myself and put into a recycled envelope for daddy. I also asked grandmum to blow two balloons for me. I carried the bag that contained his slice of cake.
I put on the candle for him too.
This is our small happy family.
I made this card for daddy myself :). Daddy is happy.
But mummy felt sorry cos she was on 3 days MC due to severe vomitting and diarhoea that she had to visit both GP and TMC to have jabs taken. She couldnt bring daddy for a feast but daddy said that as long as she is better, every simple meal will be good for him as we are his family.

I m 4 years old on 1st Oct and mum invited some friends from Soka Kindergarten for me. Daddy flew back on that day and reached home at 1am. From Soka are Aaron, Hyin Hee and Tian Le. Macrus and Shin Lin were not able to make it. There were also niu niu, esther and stephanie. It was supposed to be Thomas train theme but I decided to be princess on that day and wore my princess dress. Mum also bought 10 helium balloons to decorate our house. This was the first birthday party of my friends.

3rd week of Sept - I am Sick

I have been sick for a week and i didn't attend school. Dr Ho said that i have allergy that trigger me to cough. I used my time to draw and mum said that my drawing has improved alot with logic.

I drew the recent zoo trip. I spelled zoo correctly and mum was happy. I spelled jungle wrongly.On the top are flamingo and kangaroo. In the middle are great grand mum, grandmum, ah yi, mum with baby in tummy and me. At the bottom are elephant, lion, monkey and manatee. I spelled all the first letter of the animals.
These are rabbits with carrots each at the bottom.
Top are steve(ah yi's boss) and ah yi at work. In the middle are manatee, me, mum with baby, grandmum and daddy. Below is the lift.

These are wooden eggs, gift from Shuwen auntie for my birthday. It is delivered to grandmum house.

I use the mask as hairband. I accompanied grandmum to Dr Lim's clinic to take her high blood medicine.

2nd week of Sept

Well, i skype daddy every night and tell him what i have done. I love drawing on ipad and colour papers. Mum falls sick again. She has a flu and cough and has been coughing through the night. She could only take antibiotics and nothing else. She feels that she hasn't been teaching me anything so she exchanges for Toysrus vouchers using her credit points to buy me new educational DVDs. They are my favourite now.

Mummy brought me along when she went for her oscar scan at TMC and the baby is doing good. I saw the little heart beat inside mummy's tummy. I feel excited and i am happy to be big sister. Grandmum exchanges 120 cesar covers for a nice travellor bag for mummy's future delivery stay at TMC and mummy likes it. Since daddy is not around, we always go great grandmum house for sat lunch. I love to play the swing at great grandmum house.

First week of Sept

Two weeks have passed without daddy and i miss him. I always wait for his skype call at night. Mummy got a stitch bottle from Lifang jiejie and i love it so much that i drink lot of water. Thanks Lifang jiejie. I receive quite a fair bit of gifts from grandma and da yi. This Sat, i also accompany mummy to Dr Tan for check up. She said that i have grown up.
This is a new set of cloth from grandma.
My lantern from da yi.....it is a train.
I tried out "rock climbing" at playground. My legs are strong to climb up myself.

This is my first scooter from huggies diaper redemption. Mummy made two trips before we finally can collect it. Grandma, mum and da yi helped me to fit it up.

Soka open house 26th Aug and Zoo 29th Aug

Grandmum, mum and da yi accompanied me to Soka open house on 26th Aug 630pm. Mummy also had another important task which was to find out who are the mummies of the five classmates that i want to invite to my birthday. Seriously, she did manage to invite Hyin Hee, Aaron and Shin Ling mummies to my birthday. So she managed to get three of my good friends in class. She also invited tian le and marcus mummies and of course, esther mei mei.

Mummy took leave on 29th Aug and brought me to zoo and i had lot of fun at the waterplay. As it was only mummy so it was hard to take photo when i was playing. Grandmum and great-grandmum also had fun with the elephant show and sealion show. I was satisfied at the end of the day as mummy got me an elephant and da yi got me an art set for my birthday. However, when we reached home, mummy was unwell and went to TMC. She said that i was her darling because i insisted to stay with her when she was in pain. I told her don't be scared that i and grandmum were with her. This added alot of points from mummy :). Glad that everything was fine with her now.

Times without daddy

This is the first time that daddy left for US business trip. We managed to skype daddy and i was happy chatting with daddy. Daddy also made mummy happy as he already bought her a coach bag on his first day there and mummy loves the bag that he chose. I drew daddy in hotel room watching TV. Now every night, we skype daddy and last night, i showed him all the Thomas party items that mummy bought for me for my birthday party. This weekend, mummy will bring me to Pinegarden to order my Thomas cake as daddy feels that their cake has good standard.

3rd week of August 2011

This week has been a tough week for mummy as she falls ill and until now she has yet to recover. She got upset as she needs to take antibiotics. She told me to stay away from her and play with daddy but i couldn't. I ran in and out her room.
This was my BBQ set when it was first fixed up by daddy.
This is what happen after 1 month with full of stickers. I love stickers but apparently, mummy doesn't like too much.
Ya, i am counting my huggies stamps to change scooter and i have 30 stamps.
This is my dress for my birthday that mummy bought from cradlehouse biz online. No zip and buttons so i love it.
This is my first cheongsam that mummy bought from Chinatown for my CNY wear and in future, i can wear for school occasion for racial harmony day.

August month 2011

This month is Singapore 46th birthday. Soka kindergarten had a good celebration and she wore her red and white homecloth to school. She was given a gift pack with Singapore small flag and she loves them. They are put on our sofa and she was telling us that she wants a Singapore flag as her birthday cake :).
This is her first pair of slippers. It's disney princess. She insisted of wearing them after i paid them.

We went library to borrow her Dora books and she loves this courtesy lion as Soka has the same one.
I gave her a nice treat of happy meal with free toy. She loves fries but mum asked for no salt fries.
This nice set of cloth is from Shuwen auntie. Thanks. I like them.
I went Ben uncle's house to celebrate his girl full month.
I went with mum to AD34 dinner gathering and i had my favourite fries and fish.

Mummy's say: Valerie has grown up and when i was not feeling well, she will come and pat my back and give me a cup of her barney water. This is really a nice feeling to know that she has grown up to be a sensible girl with caring heart. She loves her Soka school and she has her good friends there. They are Aaron, Kayden, Shin Lin, Hin him and Asawa and she requests me to invite them over during her birthday. But mummy only knows Shin Lin's mum. I will have to mingle around on 26 Aug open house to get their mummies' hp. She doesn't like to go for enrichment class whenever i try to talk to her. Maybe i have to ask Ms Ana to help to speak to her. Her thought is that we are changing her school but we are not. Soka is from Mon to Fri and then just one enrichment class on Sat cos mummy is not superwoman.

I was wearing my new cloth that mummy bought online for my national day but she let me wore it for Ethan full month. I ate two red eggs and a bowl of noodle....wah....i indeed can eat alot and stay slim.
We had our new leather sofa sent to us and my grandparents also came down from Kelantan to visit us.
This was the free gift from Huggies diaper....BBQ set!! Daddy helped me to fix up and was so hard to screw that his fingers got blisters. Thanks daddy!

Mummy had bought me ipad2 for birthday and she gave me earlier.
I love the storybooks and the dog game.
I made star magnets for SOKA homework with crayon coloring and glitters.
I used the glitters to do family flowers.

I borrowed the books with my very own library card.

I had upgraded to booster seat and i sat beside the driver seat now.

Mummy: Today, i feel excited as i have the ipad2 delivered to my office. It is so cool cos its white color and most important, it engraved Happy 4th Birthday, Valerie Gan. This is meant for her birthday on 1st Oct. I will have to give her earlier so that she can skype her dad when he goes US for 1 month from mid August. Good new is that dad will be back in time for her 4th birthday. Previously, dad is upset that he might miss her birthday. What a lucky girl Valerie is!

Busy activities for Valerie and first outing with Soka

Well, I love SOKA so much that mummy is not forcing me to go for any enrichment class. She brought me to do some crafts work outside and accompany me to cycle at the park.

Mummy: Valerie has grown up and she cares for me when i am not feeling well. Things are different now. She has more of her own view and ideas and we just let her explore. Now she loves Thomas the train more than Dora. She knows the names of all the trains. Her dad bought her a big set of Thomas train and i ordered ipad2 for her. Her birthday presents are all ready 3 months ahead. This week, we also allowed her to go for her first outing with SOKA kindergarten. She went to Kids Kampong at Pasir Ris. She enjoyed herself and told us what she met in the farm. She also received her very own National Library card which SOKA had helped her to apply.

I was doing my craftwork at Tampine Mall.

I was cycling so fast at the park near our flat that i was so far from mum.

I am doing some writing. Mummy was complainting that trying to let me learn or write is such a chore. Come on, i m still small....i need lot of play.
This is an evidence showing that our sofa is meant for my toys and not to be seated by mum and dad. They always complaint. Mum always said that she is not my maid and i need to help her to clear up the toys.
I have another task which is to water mum's plant.
Dad bought wrongly and gotten Milo cereal instead that look like cutie dog food. But i like them.

Second half of June

Dora is the lucky girl as she can fetch a ride from my bike every weekend. I love to cycle and go playground. Daddy bought a portable type pump at home so that he always make sure that i ride my bike in good condition.
I am always in for good food. Mum took leave on 17th June to visit great grandmum and she brought me to library to borrow books as Ms Ana advised her.
Good food again on Father's day celebration.
Again good food at Ichiban Boshi, Centrepoint to celebrate Esther's Mummy birthday. This was my kid meal A. I finished all fries and sushi.
Mummy had been busy with these two photobooks of our New Zealand and Japan trips so that i could have a hard copy to read through like a magazine when i am older. From now on, no more scrapebooks by mummy but rather photobook as it shortens the time taken.

1 month school holiday just passed by so quickly and on Monday, i have to start to go back to Soka. I am looking forward as i ask grandma when i am going school. She asks me to count down the date until 27 since i can count from 1-100. Now, i am learning 1+1=2, 1+2=3 etc. I know more 3-letters words and i can write my name Valerie in capital letters. I don't like in small letters. Mummy is not forcing me as she doesn't send me to any holiday program as i don't want. Daddy is trying his best to get me interest in piano by playing Thoma song with his piano but i drag out my small toy piano instead :D

Happenings in June

We went for Barney Show at Marina Square. I enjoyed my time there though we started to queue at 1130am for 1 pm show. My small baby bop saw the big one. We were all shifted to Baby Bop cos she was my favourite.
Mummy got me a pair of Thomas training chopstick and i could use it on the first try.
As usual, mummy likes to recycle and this round, we made telescope and binocular using toilet rolls and kitchen roll. I painted the color myself.

We continued the following week to run after Dora. Mummy said that she and daddy were tired by this June Holiday as they had been planning things for me.

Teacher Ms Ana came to visit us as family visit. Mummy got the review of me and she will try to boost up my confidence level in socializing with people. The rest of the comments are i am a smart girl with interest in crafts and i speak in complete sentences in both English and Chinese :).

Esther's new home and Zoo trip again

Esther has moved to another new condo and mummy's buddies are all having gathering at her mummy house. Mummy was telling me that this was the first time that both of us were really playing together. I know Esther since birth.

School holiday has started and my parents brought me to zoo again since i love the waterplay and animals so much. There was this Zoolympix held in zoo and mummy registered me and we went around the zoo for additional games. I scored the highest for the water shooting game.

Mummy has also collected our New Zealand photobook from Albumstories. She loves it as it looks like magazine. She gave up on scrapebook as it takes much longer time to complete. She also sent in another Japan photobook for printing.

Activities in May

Soka Kindergarten has outing per term for nursery level. However, this round of Pasir Ris Park outing, papa and mum were not informed. No letter was given in my communication book and I was not absent on 29 April when the letter was issued. Mummy wrote an email to Principal as she was unease that the school was bringing me out without her acknowledgement and requested that i stayed home whenever there is an outing. Principal wrote back and said that mum signed a consent form during last Dec interview and in their curriculum, there are field trips. If i don't go and there might be no continuity in next lesson. It's a dilemma for mum cos she doesn't want to let me miss out but she is worried that i am only 3 years 6 months old. So she registers herself as parent volunteer and should there be any outing again, she will tag along until i am older. Mum told me that she is probably the most hated parent by the teachers and principal cos this is the second time she called them.

As i am growing, mum has hard time answering my "why". She sometimes don't know what to answer me. I can also understand both languages well. I speak better chinese. I speak english at home and chinese with grandma. My writing has improved as mum is letting me to practise at home. No writing has started in Soka yet until term 4 but every friday, there is phonics artwork. I like to sing those Jollyphonics songs. Mum told me that she is running out of ideas to keep me entertain and learn.

This whiteboard was given by Cindy as she is leaving for Canda so she gave it to mum. Mummy cut out the flowers and i sticked on it and designed it as the day chart where i will learn day in english and chinese.
Mummy cut out various size rectangles and stick together. She wrote in hundreds as i know from 1-100 so now it will be from hundreds learning.

These are new learning toys from Growing Fun. Mummy is a great fan of Growing Fun shop.
Mummy and me painted the castle chart which she cut out from a fan box. Recycling recycling is always her idea.
My parents brought me to Polliwog indoor playground again and this round, i am doing everything individually. I am BIG girl.

Long weekend of Good Friday

We went bird park again and this round, mummy felt that i could recognize more bird types.
Mummy was feeding the bird and i was happy though it was extremely hot day on good friday.

I was using my imagined telescope to look at birds.
We went to Bunker restuarant on Sat night to enjoy the good food.
This was really a nice tirumisu cake...yummy!

These pictures were daddy, me and mummy which i did over these 3 days. Mummy wrote in chinese and english but realized that she couldn't write quite a fair bit of chinese characters and they are not yet ready for my learning. She is going to google to check out.

I also decide that i m not going for Eureka phonics class as i feel that the class is small and Soka ia big. Mummy didn't force me. She said that i must promise to learn at home with her=more works for her.

Happening in April 2011

Science Centre visit on first week of April. Conclusion is that i am more interested in finding out and make friends fast.

I am writing at home and i can write A-Z and 1-10 freehand but it doesn't look very nice. But mum feels that i have done great.

These are my room learning corners. Learning tree of vowels, clock for reading time, house of phonics from Soka kindergarten worksheets and art/crafts.

If you realize, mum doesn't update my blog weekly anymore as she needs time to go through my learning. She printed out the vowels from http://tamarindphonics.blogspot.com and pasted on my learning tree. I can read from 1-100. I can read time in terms of hour hand. I still couldn't read the minute hand. I know more 3 letters words as mum goes through vowel A with me. Mum is saying that she is not a superwoman to go through phonics, maths and art and crafts with me all by herself. So she needs help from others. Today, i start my phonics class with Eureka. Teacher commented that my phonics is ok but writing is bad cos not within the lines. Well, practise makes perfect.

Acitivties at home

One night, I asked mummy why in the bridal photo i was not inside? Mummy answered that i was not borned and i was inside her tummy. Then i put manatee inside my stomache and told mummy that manatee is my baby. Mummy was laughing....

I was helping mummy to sweep the floor as she was not feeling well and coughing badly last weekend.

This weekend, mummy got me a special rabbit. It is a colorable and washable rabbit.

I like my rabbit and line them in row to sit with me while i watch my DVD.

This Sat, mummmy brought me to doctor as i have been running fever since Thurs. My coughing comes back again and despite mummy wore mask and sprayed dettol disinfectant. I still got it from her. Sad!After i came home, i role play and be Dr Valerie and rabbit is my patient.

Activities in Mar

Our whole family has been down with cough and fever and there has been no update for a while. Mummy reduces the posting frequency as she is busy teaching me. Now, i can count from 1 to 100. Slowly, she is starting on vowels with 2 letters word which she has pasted everything on the Tree noticeboard. She realizes that i recognize picture but not the words. So now she is focusing on letting me to recognize words. She told me that it was funny as she is learning phonics now so that she can teach me. When she was my age, there was no such thing as phonics class. I stopped Zoophonics in Jan because she was told that Soka Kindergarten teaches Jolly phonics. But she realizes that Soka will only start after this week holiday and only once per week for 30 minutes. Well, She is the ex-lecturer so she has to do the work now herself. She said that it is not easy to plan lesson every night as she needs to work too. She is focusing on english and maths first and grandma will focus on chinese for me. She bought 5 books of Basic Chinese 500 words for grandma to help.

Mummy will always prepare painting session for me at home. I like to paint and i just did my family paint.

I went to Marcus house to celebrate his 4th year old birthday. I had fun with his cars and also he has wii sport and showed me how to play bowling on TV screen.

Daddy and mummy brought me to Universal Studio and i had fun.

It was Soka Kindergarten open house and i was showing off mummy my bag pigeon hole with my name on it. One good thing about Soka is that i am speaking chinese now with grandma and i enjoy going to Soka.

My mummy's birthday

Today is mummy's birthday and it happens to be the farewell celebration for her colleague, Eric. They went to RedDot at dempsey road. It serves really good chicken wings...yummy!
Daddy brought mummy for Japanese food.
Daddy also bought flowers for mummy and a small cake for her. I blow her candle before she can blow it. I also sing birthday song to her. Mummy said that this is the second year that i sing to her.

Mummy Ler: Valerie has definitely grown up as she shares her whole room of toys and i m so proud of her. She also agreed to wear the pink dress that Peishan jiejie got for her when she was 1 year old. Luckily she can fit it cos its XL size.

This AS4 gathering was meant for Royston korkor. He will pursue a degree in Aussie for 1 year. This year when they came, they commented that i spoke more and i had great fun with Charmaine, Ming Boon and Xuefang jiejie. I was helping myself with Sakae sushi.
I love JCO donut.

These are ex-AS4 students and Roytson korkor is flying tomorrow night at 9pm for Aussie.

I paid myself but initially i only gave 10 buck. Mummy said that i have to empty the whole hongbao to pay on my own.

Little helper and activites at home

Mummy Ler: Valerie has grown up and starts to attend nursery at Soka Kindergarten on 5th Jan 2011. She only cried abit when she attended her first lesson and on the second lesson onwards, there was no more tear :). At 3 years old, Valerie is able to hold her pen with three fingers and write. Though the handwriting still does not look nice, i think that it is quite an achievement for her. She is able to use my lappy and move the cursor using the mouse pad to watch her show online. But she still finds it hard to use the cursor to scoll down the page so i teach her to press arrow up or down instead. My favourite hat which mum bought for me at zoo.
I was folding my cloth to help mummy.
I tried to put onto hanger.
I used my stepping stool to put my cloth into the wardrobe.
Mummy prepared my meal of vege and cute animals fish cakes.
This is my favourite snack now.
I was watching mickey mouse stories on disney website.

Happy New Year Eve and Welcoming New Year 2011

On new year eve, we went to Downtown East chalet to meet mummy's ex-students and Lester korkor. I had fun with the train, carousel and ferris wheel. I enjoyed my night there. I kept eating my nuggets and fries prepared by mummy which mummy was puzzled as fries were baked and tased plain.

On new year day, we went zoo :)

Elephants are my favourite animals in the zoo and i got an elephant cap today.

I sat on manatee. Today, i also went to feed the real manatee with carrots.
